Question
Hi Greg

I don't know if I already asked this question of you. If so please forgive me.

QUESTION:

Are chain letter containing subjects about JESUS and chain letter in general sinful to forward on to others like the chain letter suggest ?

Greg I just don't feel it a right thing to do. Its kind of being involved into WITCHCRAFT of some kind.

Please give me your view of what does the BIBLE say about this subject.

Thank You Greg
GOD BLESS YOU

Answer
Bro Ray,

Yes, you did already ask this question, but I would be more than happy to resend it to you...

Ray, you are correct that the Bible does not specifically address chain letters. Though the Bible does admonish us to obey the laws of the land (as long as they do not contradict the laws of God). So if the law says it is wrong, then we as Christians are to be subject "...unto Creaser". In this case I am speaking of the classic "chain mail" you would receive in your mail box that would ask you to do something like "...mail $1 back to the person sending it to you, mark their name off the list, and then send 10 copies of the letter with your name on the list..." This is illegal, and should not be done.

Also, you may be speaking of e-mail type of "chain letters". The ones that will ask you to forward them to as many people you know or else something bad will happen to you. If so, I totally agree with you that this is manipulative, and a form of witchcraft. I never forward them, and almost never open them. Though most people who forward them do not think of it in that way (they simply think they are cute, funny, or something else innocent).

Hope this helps,

Elder Greg Madden

Experience

I gave my heart to the Lord a few months after being married during a revival meeting. A few weeks later I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and I have not been the same since! In those twenty five years we have only attended one church (Harvest Church), and there I have served there as an Elder for fourteen years. We minister in song with the choir and worship team. I am also the new member’s class coordinator, men's ministry director, and the Harvest Riders motorcycle ministry president. In 1993 the Lord called me to "...preach the Gospel where ever I open the door..." I have had the privilege of ministering God's Word to churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. In those meetings we have seen the Lord save, heal, deliver, and fill people will His Spirit.

Organizations
I am ordained through Harvest Church, and with the World Harvest Ministerial Fellowship. I also am a licensed minister with the State of Oklahoma.

Education/Credentials
I am currantly enrolled with the Ames Bible College.
