My question is i have been going to bible college and am very close to finishing. The pastor of the church i am fellowship to just now tolds me that if i have been married more than once then i can not pastor in my chorch.. My question is does the assembly of god accept women pastors, and does how many times you have beem married count?? I was saved late in my life and i did not know god before. Since i have came close to god i have only been married once to my husband i have now. I do not understand why i can not be a pastor because of my past mistakes and i know god has forgiven me, so why can't the church???

Very difficult Questions.

As far as I am aware the AoG accepts female pastors. I am aware of lone female pastors pastoring churches. I am not aware that divorce debars you and as you are a Bible College student your college should be able to answer these questions diffinatively for you. With divorce there is always the issue of circumstance. I find it somewhat amazing that if you are an advanced student you are not already being used in your church in some pastoral capacity. Being married more that once makes it difficult for you to councel in the area of marriage and so may limit your ministry but not everyone is a good councellor anyway


If you don't like your Pastors view you can take it up with the Superintendent who may be able to suggest other areas you can Pastor in
