Assembly of God/Tithing on Gross

Question
So as far as tithing on gross, two things:

1: If we are tithing on gross, then does that mean if we get a tax refund, that we don't owe taxes on that, since we have already paid tithes on the taxes that have been withheld and are now being refunded?

2: Would I count my income before child support is deducted, since that is automatically deducted from me and is money my ex is receiving as "gross income" that I don't really have any control over? It seems she would be obligated to pay tithes on it. Would that income then be "double-tithed" if I paid tithes and she paid tithes on it? I would really appreciate clarification on this subject, as currently this is what I believe.

Answer
Miguel,

Sorry for the late reply. I will answer your questions in the order you asked them...

1. This is correct. Tithe has already been paid on any refund you may receive.

2. Child support taken out would be similar to taxes. The fact that the money is taken out does not mean you should not pay tithes on it. You still make a certain amount with, or without the child support being taken out. If your ex pays tithe on it or not does not forgo your responsibility to do so. Look at it this way, do you want your children blessed? Then how much more would they be blessed if their mother (your ex) pays for your children needs with money you've paid tithe on.

Miguel, please let me know if this helps, or if you have any other questions.

Experience

I gave my heart to the Lord a few months after being married during a revival meeting. A few weeks later I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and I have not been the same since! In those twenty five years we have only attended one church (Harvest Church), and there I have served there as an Elder for fourteen years. We minister in song with the choir and worship team. I am also the new member’s class coordinator, men's ministry director, and the Harvest Riders motorcycle ministry president. In 1993 the Lord called me to "...preach the Gospel where ever I open the door..." I have had the privilege of ministering God's Word to churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. In those meetings we have seen the Lord save, heal, deliver, and fill people will His Spirit.

Organizations
I am ordained through Harvest Church, and with the World Harvest Ministerial Fellowship. I also am a licensed minister with the State of Oklahoma.

Education/Credentials
I am currantly enrolled with the Ames Bible College.
