AnswerHi Jesse
Many people do have problems breaking free from what Paul describes as besetting sin, and if we read the Scriptures we see that he had problems too. We don't know what those problems were but we know they were bad enough for him to describe himself as wretched. What we also know is that the saving work of Jesus Christ is a finished work, we cannot add to it, it is finished and we have to embrace the truth of what the blood of Jesus does for us, but none of this stops us from being tested. We do have to yield every aspect of our life to him and confess our shortcomings frequently
The chain of lust is most often broken by public confession of the sin and, if deemed appropriate by your Pastor, deliverance through prayer ministry from whatever the hold that Satan might have on that aspect of your life. This can be a difficult path but one that sometimes has to be taken. I urge you to discuss these matters with your Pastor.
