How has Jesus' death impacted Christianity?

Thank you for your questions, and I apologize for the lateness of my reply.  

The death of Jesus is one of the cornerstones of the Christian faith. Unless He had died, we would not have fogginess of sins.

1Cor. 15:3
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Rom. 5:6
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Rom. 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Heb. 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

1Thes. 4:14
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Christ is the Lamb of God, foreordained from the foundation of the world. By the shedding of His blood on the cross, His death, burial, and resurrection, He provided salvation for all who receive Him by faith.

1 Peter 1:19
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,  

Titus 2:14
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.  

By becoming obedient unto death, Jesus bore the curse of sin, sickness and sorrow redeeming us back to Himself. He arose the third day and ascended unto heaven, there He sits on the right hand of the Father, where He ever lives to make intercession for us.

Philippians 2:6
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  
2:7
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  
2:8
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  
2:9
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
