Elder Greg

Pastor Carlos,

I apologize for the late reply. I will do my best to help. I do hope that you can read English ok.

But first let me say how honored I am to have you ask me a question. I give the Lord Jesus all the praise for you! Please tell me a little about your church. Where are you located, what type of church are you, ect...?

Now to your questions...

"What is the difference between the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongue’s interpretation?" & "Two are the same thing?"

No, the two are not the same thing. Let me explain...

Prophecy is a supernatural gift given to the Believer by the Holy Spirit enabling them to minister in three ways according to..

1 Corinthians 14:3
But he that prophesieth (the gift of prophecy in operation) speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

1. Edification
This means the act of one who promotes another's growth in Christian wisdom, piety, happiness, holiness, or building up.

2. Exhortation
This means to bring admonition, encouragement consolation, comfort, solace; that which affords comfort or refreshment. Also to bring a stirring address, instructive, admonitory, conciliatory, or a powerful hortatory discourse.

3. Comfort
This means to minister to people a calming and consoling consolation, and comfort.

The gift of the interpretation of tongues is supernatural gift to interpret a message in tongues for the church. This message could be words of comfort, encouragement, or even a word of warning, and repentance. It is God speaking to His people by interpretation of the gift of tongues.

1 Cor. 12:10
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

Pastor Arias, I hope that this helps you. I would also suggest a web site that has a good Bible study helps...

Experience

I gave my heart to the Lord a few months after being married during a revival meeting. A few weeks later I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and I have not been the same since! In those twenty five years we have only attended one church (Harvest Church), and there I have served there as an Elder for fourteen years. We minister in song with the choir and worship team. I am also the new member’s class coordinator, men's ministry director, and the Harvest Riders motorcycle ministry president. In 1993 the Lord called me to "...preach the Gospel where ever I open the door..." I have had the privilege of ministering God's Word to churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. In those meetings we have seen the Lord save, heal, deliver, and fill people will His Spirit.

Organizations
I am ordained through Harvest Church, and with the World Harvest Ministerial Fellowship. I also am a licensed minister with the State of Oklahoma.

Education/Credentials
I am currantly enrolled with the Ames Bible College.
