Question
Why does God allow suffering?

Answer
It's not a question of God allowing suffering Patrick, God has created the circumstances necessary for our salvation and permanent residence with Him in a place where there is no suffering. The time we spend here is very short. But God has also provided us with the gift of Faith by which we might overcome circumstance. If there were no suffering we would be illigitimate children or just clones unable to think for ourselves. Our bodies are mortal the result of the rebellion of Adam and with that comes consequences even for believers.

I don't know your circumstance but I know from personal experience that we can overcome, it may not be instantaneous but it can and does happen. God likes his children to ask, so ask and keep on asking, believing that you have what you have asked for and it is coming.
