Assembly of God/God

Question-------------------------
I see. I still find it hard to completely except that God really does exist. Part of me wants to, but only because I'm scared that if I do not I will go to hell. The other part of me believes that it is impossible, humans evolve, so do our minds. Once the smartest of people believed that to cure an illness was to drill a hole in the head in order to let out the evil spirits- with more knowledge and understanding the way many minds work change. If God does exist it's comforting but I don't want to believe for selfish reasons such as not going to hell. But I do not want to abandon any ideas that attempt explain the universe. Is it possible that God acts as someone who gives meaning to life? If we as humans feel that there is no meaning to life, it may be so devastating that we have created a meaning through a higher authority figure such as a God. Lonely children create imaginary friends for comfort. Humans have an instinct to survive. Perhaps we cannot exist unless we have a meaning to live. What is your Christian opinion?
AnswerHi Jennifer
It's alright to have doubts, but Jesus said blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed. What you need to do is ask God to come into your heart. In order to do this you repent of not living the way He wants you to, ask him for the Gift of Faith and proclaim by speaking it out that Jesus is Lord. If you do this with belief then you will become born again and you will know God exists.
It's not about intelligence and whether you can work it all out. God doesn't relate to you in what you can work out for yourself, but in what you will accept because He has told you. You see you said it, you don't want to abandon your ideas, this is a god to you and the Lord said you will have no gods before me. Some very intelligent people have come to the conclusion God is the only explanation. You must accept that God is a higher authority than your intelligence or the intelligence of man. We can't work it all out, the more we discover, the more we find there is to be discovered. Once our universe was this world and everything revolved around it, but Earth isn't the centre of the known universe and yet the central truth is God called it all into being for His own purposes and His own pleasure. God is not an imaginary friend, but a real tangible presence, if you can just awaken from the slumber of humanism
