Assembly of God/Why does fruit exist? Is it proof of intelligent design?

QuestionI've been looking at the idea that fruit makes no sense.
The tree itself could spread its seeds like most other plants.
However fruit trees create an additional substance, like a banana just to support an additional life-form.
It that tree evolved through evolution, then it would have developed self-reproductive ability, as most do.
But then why does it grow banana's as well? It only uses up the plants natural resources to create a food substance that does not help itself.
With some fruit, the seeds are contained in the fruit itself and uses the animals stool as a fertile growing ground. But that still means that one life form has been created to help support another, entire different life-form.
Doesnt that prove intelligent design was at work or do I have my facts wrong?

AnswerSteve you have heard the term ecosystem. All life forms are interdependent. When God created the Earth He didn't create a lot of life forms that would compete with each other but life forms that are dependent on one another. Some life forms are so specialised, like the Koala, that the absence of a specific species of tree means death to them. I cannot accept this is an accident, because, taking the Koala again, if evolution worked, that species would learn to eat something else.
As to intelligent design, if by this you mean God thought about the function of each species, yes there is evidence of that, but remember he did it for his pleasure
