QuestionA friend is having a hard time letting go of a past relationship. She knows that this person does not care for her the way she wants him to and he is taking advantage of her kindness and generosity. She as leant him monies in the past that he has not paid back, he knows how to play on her sympothies and is now asking for another $500.00 loan. She said she knows he's just playing her but she is reminded of the scripture "do unto others". I told her that I would find her a scripture to show her that it doesn't mean she is to let people use her. Could you help?

There is a little more to this situation than just an Appropriate Scripture. Your description suggests that your friend is dealing with a manipulative individual and therefore scripturally you are dealing with witchcraft.
Because there has been a relationship it's probable that there are what I call "soul ties" and these need to be broken by prayer ministry. You need to discuss this with your Pastor or a Christian experienced in prayer ministry. Once free of these ties your friend will not be so easily influenced.
Your friend is correct about the biblical principle of lending but there is decieptfullness here as loans have not been repaid. I have a similar situation with my son and I have come to the conclusion I am not helping him by going along with his deciept, therefore I do not lend to him though he asks, but I might give him money where there is a real need. I am by no means suggesting your friend give him money.
Proverbs 6:1-5 comes to mind though the circumstances may not fit. Particularly verse 5 which says free yourself. Your friend is in the snare of the fowler, by the blood of Jesus we escape the snare of the fowler.
I hope I have been of help
