Dear Elder Greg,

         When I was young I wasnt aware of what was happening to the world. I was about seven at the time. I was at the toys R us I walk out and the sky was a weird color like blood shot red like the color of fire. The clouds were acting a bit odd. I was wondering why the people in my town and others as we drove by screaming and pointing at the sky accidents were reported and many were outside praying crying and holding there hands out screaming God have mercy on your children. I suddenly looked out and I saw the sun I was so scared that it frightend me it was black as sackcloth it was as big as the african sun but it was flat facing downward. I was so afraid years latter I look into the bible when I was 15 I saw it in the scriptures in the last days the sun will darken and the moon will not give its light it will become blood. I was like wow I wonder till this day I am 21 years old now very in love with Christ Jesus but was that a God given sign of the end times in 93 in the summer to late spring. I am curious every Eye saw it even the news showed it on television.But it was only the sun that was acting strangly but the moon was fine once night fell. What the heck happened that day it was very odd.

To be honest with you, I am not sure what you are asking. It is true that the Bible foretells of signs in the Earth that would herald His return. But what you are describing can also occur naturally. A recent dust storm here in Oklahoma make the sky look just as you described. But what the Bible is describing will be a definite metrological and astronomical occurrence that will take place during the seven year tribulation period.

Joel 2:31
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Acts 2:20
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

Rev. 6:12
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Jacqueline, it is true that the Lord may use metrological and astronomical things to help lead people to repentance and salvation. But is only the preaching of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the Cross that anyone can be saved.
