Question
can a doctor tell if a drug Toradol injection trigged my Asthma Attack?

Answer
Hi Joyce,

In a study of over 11,000 patients in 49 hospitals, only 12 had allergic reaction to the medication in Toradol. There is a greater possibility if the patient is aspirin-intolerant, and/or a prior allergic sensitivity to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. This would then be a risk issue.

The allergist may want to do a skin test to verify, but it would seem extremely unlikely that this was the causative agent unless prior history with the other agents existed.

While not definitive, I hope this helps in the process of elimination.

Sincerely,

Marc
