Asthma/Low grade temps with asthma

Question
Do asthma patients keep a low grade temp or are they just naturally warmer than most people?  I live in a Chicago Illinois suburb. No pets. My 4 year old nephew, my 13 year old nephew, my brother, my husband, my older sister and myself all suffer from asthma.  All of us are warmer than most other people that don't have asthma. All on different meds for management of the asthma.

Answer
Hi Judi,

I have never heard any discussion in regards to a variant in temperature in asthmatics. Where there is a known difference is in genetics. One thinks that 98.6 deg is the only "normal" body temperature, when in actuality, while it applies to the vast majority of people, it doesn't apply to everyone. Some run higher, like your family, others run lower temps for a norm. Out of curiosity, is everyone of those you mention thin?
So needless to say, don't worry about it.

I live in a Chicago suburb also...looking forward to this weekend with warmer temps. Oh, if you listen to WGN Radio at night, I'm the pharmacist on Steve and Johnnies show that comes on after midnight.

Sincerely,

Marc
