Asthma/ProAir vs. Flovent?

Question
I have been suffering with what I think is an Upper respitory infection or bronchitis. Symptoms included rumbling lungs, wheezing, constant coughing up of phlegm w/ no color or fever. After seeking treatmeat at a clinic, I was given a RX for Ceftin, Prednisone & a Pro-Air inhaler. I was getting better but 2 days after finishing the Prednisone my lung congestion flared back up. I returned to the Dr who then gave a breating treatment, refilled the Prednisone 10 more pills & gave me a RX for Flovent priced at $170.00 vs. ProAir $40.00. Not having any health care insurance can make filling these prescriptions financially impossible. Is the Flovent a huge step up in controlling my condition?

Answer
Flovent is an inhaled form of the prednisone and it is important to take it to get rid of the inflammation in your lungs.  I understand completely the cost of medications.  Have you tried contacting the drug company to see if they would be able to cover the cost for you?
