Question
Hi when i was about 11 i had a bad asthma i was on steroids to keep my lungs open and used nebulizers every day i am now 16 will my earler steroid and nebulizers have sytoms later on in life? the doctors say i have grown out of the asthma but can i get it again?

Answer
Tyler,

chronic steriod use ( more than 6 months) and only in high doses ( 50 mg or more) may result the known negative side effects of steroids. So you would have seen them by know.

I do not know how long you were on steroids and on what doses but if this was at 11 years of age and all is well as you grow further into your teens I would say you are good to go!

Nebulisers have some acute side effects depending on what doses, frequencies and types you were using but non that are chronic.

Hope this helps
