and it normally happens around november thru may, until recently,i was diagnosed with asthma and i was put on advair
singular, albuterol.i've been on these meds for like one month and i still feel tightness on the chest.is this normal
i mean how long should an asthma attack last?

Answer
Anuli,
Asthma flare ups can last until you manage to get the swelling and inflamation down in your airways. If you have been on these meds for a month and have not noticed much of a change then you should check with your doctor. There are many different types of medications that can be used and you may have better luck with something else. It is normal for asthmatics to have long periods of time where they have symptoms. It is however a sign of poorly controlled asthma and needs the attention of your doctor.
