What a planet offers during its major period depends chiefly on the provisions it is assigned by way of 'rulership and occupation' in the personal horoscope. During its periods, it will therefore not just offer the effects of its 'natural properties', but also its 'functional properties' unique to the personal horoscope of the individual. This will be different for different lagnas and vastly different planetary positions. For this reason, to speak too much of what a general single planet has to offer during its period for everyone, is regarded in our school as bad astrology. See first, what that planet represents in that person's horoscope and determine that as the effect that will surface during that planet's cycles in time.
