About Zane B Stein
Expertise
I WILL BE HAPPY TO answer questions about astrology in general, the meanings of planets, signs, houses, aspects, asteroids, Chiron, etc. I use Western, Tropical Astrology. Please do not ask me questions about Vedic Astrology as I am not an expert on this.

I WILL NOT ANSWER PERSONAL QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR INDIVIDUAL CHART, such as "Will I get rich?" or "Will I get married?", or "Are we compatible?" I do have a private astrological practice, and if you need to ask those type of questions, contact me privately and we`ll discuss a possible astrologer/client relationship. Also, I cannot answer questions about Vedic Astrology, or Chinese Astrology.

Also, astrology is NOT "What is my lucky stone?" or "What is my lucky color?" or "What are my lucky numbers?" Any astrologer who gives you a lucky object, or number, based on your chart, is not a real astrologer, but someone who is giving in to superstition. In order to find out how to enhance your luck, you need to have an astrologer look at your whole chart, and tell you what areas you need to focus upon, how to accent your positives, and work to resolve any problems that exist.

Experience
I've been involved with astrology since 1969, taught classes on several occasions, written a number of articles and one book, and lectured around the USA, in Canada, Great Britain, Scotland and Ireland.

Subject: eclipses

Question
hi, this time i need to learn about effect of eclipses on our natal planets.
during 2006 and 2007 i experienced eclipses on my saturn, pluto and uranus:) believe me (if you add saturn venus opposition to them) they weren't my best years!! a major (infact the biggest one) heartbreak, financial problems, health issues... all i wanted to say "please give me a break". (thank god that i work in the field of psychology and thank god that i am a born optimist)
now new eclipses are at the door, and i want to learn more about them:
solar and lunar eclipses on venus, sun, jupiter and mercury... eclipses on fifth, eleventh and tenth houses... how do they effect us?
thank you in advance

Answer
Hi, Foglia,

The purposes of eclipses are two-fold: to help us to let go of things we
need to part with, AND to open the door for something new to enter our lives.

Sometimes, a person will pass out of our life following an eclipse, and, while the eclipse did not cause them to leave, we have a major lesson to learn about just what about them we were holding on to.
It can at times be quite painful.

Looking back, one will almost always see something new, or at least, an opportunity for something new, that comes following the eclipse as well.
No one, unfortunately, forces us to go in that direction, but it is usually in-your-face so you have to either take the opportunity, or say no to it.

Here is an excellent article on eclipses, including a section with hints about eclipses conjunct and opposition each planet.  This should give you a good heads-up about what to expect:

To me, the easiest way to understand an eclipse is to consider the fact that it is a lunation (new moon = new direction, or full moon = something coming to a head or completion), that occurs close to the Lunar Nodes (north node = influx of the new, or south node = passing of the old). Every Solar Eclipse is near one of the two nodes. Every lunar eclipse is a full moon, so one of the two bodies is near the north node, the other near the south.

It is impossible to have an eclipse that is not near one of the nodes.
Understand the nodes, and lunations, and you will go a long way to understanding eclipses.

Eclipses can sometimes bring the most wonderful opportunities.  They do not always involve painful letting go.  (It was an eclipse that led to me selling my very first magazine article.  What I had to let go of was my tendency to not finish what I started.)

Best wishes,
Zane
