About Zane B Stein Expertise I WILL BE HAPPY TO answer questions about astrology in general, the meanings of planets, signs, houses, aspects, asteroids, Chiron, etc. I use Western, Tropical Astrology. Please do not ask me questions about Vedic Astrology as I am not an expert on this.
I WILL NOT ANSWER PERSONAL QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR INDIVIDUAL CHART, such as "Will I get rich?" or "Will I get married?", or "Are we compatible?" I do have a private astrological practice, and if you need to ask those type of questions, contact me privately and we`ll discuss a possible astrologer/client relationship. Also, I cannot answer questions about Vedic Astrology, or Chinese Astrology.
Also, astrology is NOT "What is my lucky stone?" or "What is my lucky color?" or "What are my lucky numbers?" Any astrologer who gives you a lucky object, or number, based on your chart, is not a real astrologer, but someone who is giving in to superstition. In order to find out how to enhance your luck, you need to have an astrologer look at your whole chart, and tell you what areas you need to focus upon, how to accent your positives, and work to resolve any problems that exist.
Experience I've been involved with astrology since 1969, taught classes on several occasions, written a number of articles and one book, and lectured around the USA, in Canada, Great Britain, Scotland and Ireland.

Expert: Zane B Stein Date: 3/9/2008 Subject: Same birthdays and birth place
Question I recently met a person who was born in the same month, on the same day,
in the same year and in the same area of the same state as me. How similar
are we ? I was born at 9:51 am, not sure about him. Does the time of day one
was born really affect us in different ways? Would we share the same
strengths and weaknesses? Without the societal aspect and its effect, can two
people share the exact same traits? What about twins, biology aside? Is it all
unique?
Answer Hi, Sirrahnire,
The time of birth is very, very important. So important, in fact, that a pair of twins born 6 minutes apart will display different tendencies.
Before I go into this further, though, think of two cars crashing into each other. If one of the two had been there 60 seconds earlier, the crash may never have occurred.....so you can see how significant one moment of time can be from the next.
Two people born on the same day, different times, will have some things in common, for sure. If they compare notes, they will find many surprising 'coincidences.' I have a personal example I'd like to share:
I was born the same month, day and year (but about 12 hours apart) as a noted author and lecturer, Starhawk, and had the good fortune of meeting her on one occasion. Comparing notes, we discovered that we came from the same sized families (one sibling each), of the same ethnic origin. Her mother had the same (extremely unusual) first name as my mother's mother. The year she was published for the first time was the same year I was published for the first time. And there were many, many other similarities. BUT there were also many differences, such as the fact that we express ourselves differently, have different mannerisms, and a different focus in life.
Back to your question.
Two people born the same day would have, essentially, the same planetary positions, thus the same aspects between planets in their charts. If one has Mars square Saturn, then the other would too, and so both would have to contend with this type of energy in their lives.
If one has Jupiter trine Neptune, so would the other. Etc.
Being born at different times of day would, perhaps, make some of the aspects stronger in one chart in the other, so more significant in one person's life than the other. (Example, a child born at 5 am may have Mercury 2 degrees away from exact conjunct to Mars, while one born at 5 pm may have Mercury 1-1/2 degrees away from exact, so the second person would have a stronger Mercury/Mars influence in their lives.)
The only body that would not necessarily have the same aspects is the Moon, since the Moon can move 12, 13, 14, or 15 degrees in one day. So if you look at two people born several hours apart, one may have aspects to their Moon that the other does not, and visa versa, showing major differences between their emotions, and their ideas of security.
What DOES change drastically is the relationship of the planets and signs to the houses. Each house is an area of life. One person may have Venus in the 2nd house, and someone born four hours later may have Venus in the 4th house, which shows an entirely different orientation towards life, and what the person values. And the degree of the sign rising changes swiftly, with a new degree rising every 3-6 minutes. Person A may be born with 29 Aries rising, and the twin born
5 minutes later might have 1 Taurus rising, giving entirely different outlooks on life, different mannerisms, etc. Two people simply born on the same day, but hours apart, (even if born in the same city) would have entirely different rising signs, which may have nothing in common with each other.
To sum up, people born on the same date will have things in common, and things different....but exactly what they share, versus what is different, will depend on the exact times/places of their birth, and what has changed during that interval.
