About Zane B Stein
Expertise
I WILL BE HAPPY TO answer questions about astrology in general, the meanings of planets, signs, houses, aspects, asteroids, Chiron, etc. I use Western, Tropical Astrology. Please do not ask me questions about Vedic Astrology as I am not an expert on this.

I WILL NOT ANSWER PERSONAL QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR INDIVIDUAL CHART, such as "Will I get rich?" or "Will I get married?", or "Are we compatible?" I do have a private astrological practice, and if you need to ask those type of questions, contact me privately and we`ll discuss a possible astrologer/client relationship. Also, I cannot answer questions about Vedic Astrology, or Chinese Astrology.

Also, astrology is NOT "What is my lucky stone?" or "What is my lucky color?" or "What are my lucky numbers?" Any astrologer who gives you a lucky object, or number, based on your chart, is not a real astrologer, but someone who is giving in to superstition. In order to find out how to enhance your luck, you need to have an astrologer look at your whole chart, and tell you what areas you need to focus upon, how to accent your positives, and work to resolve any problems that exist.

Experience
I've been involved with astrology since 1969, taught classes on several occasions, written a number of articles and one book, and lectured around the USA, in Canada, Great Britain, Scotland and Ireland.

Question
Dear Mr.Zane,
My brother has a very strange horoscope. All the 10 bodies occupy just 5 houses.7 houses are empty.Jupiter in 1st,Saturn,Sun & Pluto in 2nd,Mercury,Uranus & Mars in 3rd, Neptune in 4th and Veuus & moon in 12th.All the remaining 7 houses i.e. from 5th to 11th are empty. Please tell me is it a bad horoscope? What does all that signify?
Regards
Arpit

Answer
Hi, Arpit,

First, please note that it is COMMON to have several empty houses.
Assuming you had a chart where each body was in a different house, with ten bodies you'd still have 2 empty houses.
Mercury can only be 28 degrees from the Sun, so many, many people have Mercury in the same house as the Sun, giving them at least 3 empty houses. And planets frequently group together, so 5, 6, even 7 houses empty are not uncommon. (Right now, as I write this, there are 5 empty houses.)

An empty house indicates that the sign on the cusp, and the planet that rules that sign, are the dominant influences in that area of life.

Planets in a house show added emphasis in that house. Three planets in one house give it even more emphasis, make it more important in the person's life. So your brother's chart gives extra emphasis to the first house (outer appearance, first impression he makes, his personal perceptions of the world around him) and 2nd house (what he values, what he would like to attract to him, income and possessions) moreso than other areas of life.

I can't give individual interpretations of his chart, because, as it says in my profile:

"I don't answer personal questions on this site, just questions about astrology itself.

http://www.allexperts.com/browse.cgi?catLvl=3&catID=2205

"I will be happy to answer questions about astrology in general, the meanings of planets, signs, houses, aspects, asteroids, Chiron, etc. I will NOT answer personal questions about your individual chart"

But I can assure you, there is no 'bad' horoscope.  Each horoscope is only a blueprint of a person's potentials, a roadmap to enable a person to make the best of their life and to grow and evolve.

Best wishes,
Zane
