Astrology/4th house

QuestionBorn October 14, 1955; 22:16; Tokyo, Japan
I have five planets in my 4th house, the house of family and nurturing. Yet I have never married, had children, or owned a home, or lived near my parents since I was 16. Still my horoscopes are always mentioning home, family, security, home environment, etc. This has no real application to my daily life. So what does this concentration of planets mean? Is there another meaning to the 4th house? Is something in my chart working against this tendency? Is it Saturn in Scorpio?? As I am getting older, it is bothering me and I am afraid I am blocked by something, a certain willfulness on my part? What can I do to go with this tendency, whatever it is, that I am supposed to have and make use of it?
Thank you.

AnswerThis is a very good question, and shows why an astrologer can never say a person is suppose to be or do something. When you have a heavy emphasis on an area of your chart yes it is highlighted but its not always in a traditional or what society would call normal way. All areas of our charts have meanings on many different levels. the fourth house in your chart more represents to me the struggle and challenges you have faced with your family of origin. Often this strong an emphasis can indicate a lack of knowing your family, Neptune in the fourth can mean begin adopted, so can Uranus. It can also mean something in your very early childhood that made you feel you needed to leave or you did not feel like a part of your family , you feel or felt different from them so you did not have the connection needed for bonding. The fourth house is also your roots, so it can be a constant struggle to figure out who you are, where you fit in or how you can fit in. You chart pattern does indicate a needing to distance yourself from family as it may not have been as supportive as you needed. You do not need to beat yourself up because the fourth house is family, and you don't feel it fits for you. The fourth house is your base, and maybe in your chart your life needs to be spent finding out who you are instead of finding out how you fit in with your family.
