QUESTION: hi there.

I read in one of your readings that someone's fixed star conjunct midheaven would help them have success - was this star regina?

I looked it up in my chart and it confirmed the theme that I recognise from my chart and life - it is intercepted in leo, quite near the midheaven which is in virgo.


Do you think this means I will have great trouble suceeding in leo  areas of my life?

I have a strong stellium of sagittarian planets - all in the first house,, but with my ascendent squaring saturn (also intercepted in leo).

I've always felt that people are either enjoying bullying me or using me for assets or ideas.


I feel worried that I failed in life because I am very fearful,jealous and afraid of other people being better than me. I want to stand out, but I feel like people stop me, that I can't quite shine.

Do you think it's possible to get a balance and feel I'm expressing things not repressing them?

What does regina tell you about this theme?

ANSWER: The star I was talking about is Regulus the heart of the Lion in the constellation of Leo, that fixed star on the MH almost promises success in life. I only use a few of the fixed stars so i am not familiar with the one you are referring to. I do not have your chart in front of me, so some of what I am going to say is speculation. But I feel from what you say the issues you struggle with have to do with all that Sagittarius and the squares from Saturn.  what happens with a combination like that is the Sagittarius side of you get very hopefully and excited about things the Saturn side lets you know why your ideas cannot work so you sort of have a constant battle going on inside yourself.  If I find out anything about the fixed star in your chart I will let you know about it.

Yes - I just saw on astro.com the abreviated REG. It must be regulus, as I checked the chart of your other querent who had this on the Midheaven.

Yes you are right - saturn and sag are always fighting, and usually saturn is in the form of a pessemistic man who has himself established in some way ( older boyfriends). sag is what I see of as "ME" the one who can do anything, and why isn't the world letting me show it what I can do. Me says I don't need anything, just inspiration, then "he" walks away and leaves me in the desert without anything, and I always go back to him, when really I am thinking I should have just chased out some water and got my hiking boots on.

ANSWER: Hi Bridget

I did look at your chart and that Saturn trines all you Sag planets, but you do have Saturn square Jupiter in Taurus, which gives a similar effect.  In reality that Saturn trine you Sag planets should be quite beneficial.

AS to the fixed stars I never use more than a one degree orbit, and the only aspect I use is the conjunction.  Fixed stars do not play a huge role in the chart. Some of them, like Regulus are very powerful so when in certain positions do have a considerable effect.  But in general I do not find them a strong influence more a secondary type and the orb needs to be tight. An example would be the fixed star Vindemiatrix that is a star of widowhood its located at 9 degrees 56 minutes of Libra.  For the effect of this star to work it needs to be exact, and often it needs to be with a planet that is not well aspected.  So the stars need to have a backup in most cases, otherwise every person in the world with a conjunction to a fixed star would have a certain type of life.  In the case of Vindemiatrix it means every person born Oct 2 would be a widow or widower as that is the day the Sun transits this position. Hope this helps you with your question.

QUESTION: I just checked my chart again and if you can, I would like to know more about the two fixed star conjunctions I have - one is jupiter on algol, the other is antlia on the moon and mercury.

I've read a bit about algol, in diana rosenberg's medusa's head article, all of which is very insightful and helps me understand more about myself.

But I can't find much on antlia conjunctions. Except that it is named after a vaccuum.

Hi again

I am sure you have read the Algol is a horrid star and it can be, but I find it works in mundane astrology on a much stronger level than it does in personal charts. That is not to say it has no effect, it does.  The more positive side of it conjunct your Jupiter is you can be very determined, you do not stop when you want to get something whether it be an item, possession of knowledge.You can be Bull Headed, since this is a strong placement in the sign of the Bull. In your case its in your 7th house, so you may attract significant others into your life that are bull headed.  Jupiter rules your second house so my advice would be make sure you do not allow any partners business or personal to take over your finances as it could be an unfortunate move for you. The more negative side of this star is "loosing ones head", this can be literal or figurative.  I find it more often means the person will fly off the handle has a bad temper, but again since your is in your 7th I would say its more likely you will draw people to you that behave that way.  You can show a certain amount of this quality but the placement indicates its played out more through others.  Since you Jupiter is in a wide conjunction its not as powerful as a tight conjunction, so the influence is not as strong.

As to Antlia I do not know that star could you mean Antares
