I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

As an example, you might ask, "My 7th house (house of partnerships, relationships, etc.) cusp sign is Virgo, so which planet rules the house considering I have no planets in that house?"

Or, you might ask, for instance, "My natal Sun is on the cusp, in which sign is it?"

Question
I've heard differing opinions with regard to car repairs during a Mercury retrograde. My car needs to go to the shop for repairs resulting from an accident. The other guy's insurance company is in a hurry to get the claim settled. I'm hesitant to schedule the car for repairs unless everything can be completed before Mercury goes retrograde on May 26, not only because I don't want problems with the car, but because I fear reluctance on the part of the insurance company to pay for quality parts and labor. Would you advise that I attempt to squeeze in the repairs before May 26 or wait until after June 19? Not sure if it matters in the slightest in this case, but for reference my sun, moon, and mercury are all in Taurus w/ ascendant Scorpio.

Hi K,

Although Mercury retrograde (or any retrograde for that matter) is an affliction, it's only one of many possible indicators.

Also, your natal astrological indications may suggest an easier time with Mercury retrogrades than average. If Mercury isn't a major player in your natal charts, it's less of a concern for you.

Then there is the consideration in which house of your natal chart the current Mercury retrograde falls. If it falls in a weak house for example, and unrelated to the matter at hand, it would be easier for you.

Here's my view on Mercury Retrograde: 17-28 days before Mercury goes retrograde can be "worse" (communication issues, etc.) than the actual retrograde period. Also, the second half of the actual Mercury retrograde period generally runs more smoothly than the first half.

In my view, too much emphasis is placed on Mercury retrograde.

However, I'd suggest going ahead with the auto repairs at the most convenient time, while making extra sure that all information is relayed properly and all is understood by both parties. Take nothing for granted and assume nothing. You're not venturing into totally new territory, you're going back over something (damage) and taking care of it, so this isn't as bad as you might think.

Although, sorry, I don't do readings here as I say on my AllExperts profile, I'd have to have your exact time and location of birth to get into how important Mercury retrograde (and this one in particular) is to you personally.
