I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

hi, Scott, after some time I've thought of a couple other questions to ask you =].
Firstly I remember you mentioning that the fact that my 7th house is in Leo it dignifies my sun.
I was wondering how big of an infuluence that rly makes?
I never rly focused on houses and didn't think they were that importnant.
Also, you said that my Venus even though in detriment, was blessed with term and triplicity. Well what does that mean?
I also read somewhere that wether a person was born at night or day has smt to do with their chart too.
Like someone born with Mars in cancer at the daytime acts differently that someone with Mars in Cancer at night.
So could you describe how that would contribute to my Venus in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer being born during the day?
Because i heard it's not good.
Also I read that the fact that My cancer rises before the sun [which I think just means if it's in an earlier sign if I'm right?] then you display a lot of marsian qualities.
Well with my troubled mars would that mean I express all those troubled qualities more than any other of my planets since it's in an earlier sign than all the rest?

Hi Elina,

You're welcome about answering your questions. I just happen to be on-line addressing some AllExperts questions at this time, so I'll answer your question now instead of later.

Yes, according to my calculations, your 7th cusp is at about 16 degrees Leo. Since it is an angular house (strong house, like 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th) and since your Sun is in Libra, your Sun is sextile the 7th cusp, at least by sign. This connection is a reception (Sun rules Leo) and symbolically strengthens your Sun, as does your Sun's sextile to the MC, MC being an angle (but this one is not a reception).

The dignification by reception with an angle is a moderate, good influence, in my view.

Yes, your Venus is blessed by Term and Triplicity. Do a search for "astrology, terms" and "astrology, triplicity" for more information. There are dignities here just like with rulership (like Moon in Cancer) and exaltation (like Moon in Taurus), although not as strong. Rulership is strongest, then exaltation, then triplicity, then term.

Yep, day (diurnal) or night (nocturnal) makes a difference. Venus and Mars are both nocturnal planets. So nocturnal chart is symbolically advantageous to these two heavenly bodies, to some degree.

Your Sun was above the horizon at the time of your birth, Mars wasn't. I wouldn't attribute that alone to someone displaying a lot of Martian qualities.

No, Mars in "earlier sign" isn't, in my view, firmly related to expressing "all those troubled qualities" as you say, more than the traits associated with the other planets. Consider placement (strong or weak house), and other afflictions, like being associated with Saturn, etc., among others.

For example, your Mars is Trine Venus, and Venus is in Scorpio. Mars rules Scorpio, so this benefits Mars (through doctrine of reception), along with Venus. You're better off than you think.

Please understand though that all indicators must be weighed and that any single one is either corroborated or mitigated by the other 100s of astrological and numerological indicators.
