Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I was born 9/27/1963 @ 9:35 am - ESt

I am considering going back to school, & changing my career.
Considing bookkeeping or medical coding, but I was told a few years back, to avoid financial line of work by a medium.

Should a 1 life path avoid finance employemnt.

Thanks

ANSWER: Beth,

You were born during the year of the Water Rabbit, month of the Metal Rooster, day of the Water Rooster and hour of the Fire Snake.

This question is more complicated than it looks, especially since some of the indicators in your chart point in different directions. While I don't as a rule criticize the conclusions of other practitioners, I'm not so sure of that medium's.

According to your Chinese chart Wealth is associated with Metal. This indicates the best way for you to make money is in commerce, which probably means sales or marketing. So, it depends on what the medium means by a financial line of work. I would not rule out becoming a financial analyst, that is, someone who analyzes stocks for a mutual fund company, or an economist.

As for accounting, banking and bookkeeping, there is some truth to what the medium said. You do not have much Earth in your chart. This means you may not be good with work that involves a lot of repetition and attention to detail. Thus, you might find after a while you are becoming bored as a bookkeeper or medical coder. Be sure this is not the case before you begin a course of study.

On the other hand, Rooster is probably the sign most often associated with the idea of being good at managing money. And, you have two Rooster signs. This is thus a positive for bookkeeping.

May I ask what your present career is? It would be helpful if you sent me a follow up question with that information.

One last thought. With a Water Rabbit year sign you would probably be a lot more comfortable in an office environment than working independently in your own business.

QUESTION: thank you so much for your answer.  my current line of work.  2 p/t jobs - receptionist in a catering facility & work at home sales for a florist.  i definitely feel more comfortable;e in a office, but home sales i enjoy alot because of computer interaction.  will be going for more educations, not sure which field.

Answer
Hi Beth,

Actually I think you would be happier in either of your part time jobs rather than the two you mentioned in regards to a possible course of study.

With two Rooster, and a Snake sign, you probably have the ability to make yourself look good and appealing to people. With normal Water in your chart, those are great qualities for a receptionist.

With a lot of Metal in your chart, and again normal Water, you have the drive to do home sales. Assuming you have a nurturing home, you don't need to work in an office proper.

The important point in your chart is you don't have much Earth. Whatever you do you need to be cautious about two things. You probably won't be happy with routine, repetitive work over the long term. Secondly, you may not be that practical. You either need to be in an environment where you get plenty of guidance or with one or more down to earth people to help keep your feet on the ground and to make sure you don't overlook important details. You are not likely to be great with remembering and handling small matters.

It's important for the Rooster to look good and be given respect. And, the Rabbit likes security. My guess is your current situation lacks the latter to a degree. My final suggestion may or may not address that point.

As a coach I believe in playing to your strength to win. Yours is Metal, and that probably means sales and, or, marketing. Unfortunately that's often on a commission basis, which is not consistent with your desire for security.

If you were in the Seattle (maybe even the San Francisco area), I might be able to help you find an opportunity to test out whether you could be happy in that line of work.

Good luck to you. Just keep thinking and researching until you find something that feels right rather than changing just for the sake of change.

Expertise

Chinese Astrology. I`ve done Chinese astrology for over 20 years, pimary experience Ming Shu style. I am NOT a psychic. I can't answer questions about when a particular event will occur, when/if your life will change, or what your spouse is going to be/look like. I do comment on relationships, career, personality analysis and life cycle chi, i.e., energy level and influences at each of the five stages of life. I evaluate specific relationships or can look at your love life in general. I can tell you your best career choices and whether the one you've chosen is good for you. And, I can identify the strong and weak times in your life. I've done work for Yahoo, astrology.com and onlinechineseastrology.com.

Experience

I've studied Chinese astrology for over 20 years now and done several thousand charts. My specialty is four pillars method, particularly as applied to evaluating relationships. I've also done Nine Star Ki and readings using Mah Jong tiles. My next step is to learn Purple Star astrology. It identifies many more chart details, but accurate readings are time consuming and dependent upon a lifetime of acquired experience.
