Question
Hello, it's me again!. You've been very very helpful and you made many things clear for me.
I have an other question. When a planet does not form many aspects, that means that the planets energy is more genuine?
For example, my sun forms a quincux and a sextile. Does this make me more scorpio? My venus forms many aspects, squares, conjuctions etc. That means than my libra-venus is taking elements from the other planets and is not a genuine libra?
And another -related- question. I understand that mercury f.e, when forming an aspect with mars f.e,its mercury that is beeing "colored" with the mars characteristics. What about jupiter and sun etc? Is there some kind of "order" from the strongest to the weakest planet?
thank you again for your time and patience
k

Answer
Hello Kate,

I wouldn't call a planet's energy more genuine if it doesn't
form many aspects. If a planet doesn't form any aspects at
all it may have a stronger symbolic impact related to the
visible personality. It may stand out more (e.g.,  Mars in
Aries making no aspect to other planets = aggressive
personality). But that planet's placement, such as in an
angular house (1, 4, 7, 10) or not makes a difference of
course, as do other considerations.

I wouldn't say your sextile, etc. makes you more of a Scorpio.

Your Venus in Libra is still genuine, don't worry. But it
could be burdened if your Venus is making a hard aspect
to a malefic like Saturn, for example.

I wouldn't say there is an order from the strongest to weakest
planet. It totally depends on how each planet is dignified and
strengthened (or not) by sign, placement, etc. Sure, Jupiter
and Sun can "color" other planets through Ptolemaic aspects,
just like any other planet.

In each person's charts there exists a dominant planet, and
it's often times not the Ascendant ruler. It can be any
planet, based on many variables.

Expertise

Please note: I DON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. That means if you ask for a free reading, your question will be rejected.

I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

As an example, you might ask, "My 7th house (house of partnerships, relationships, etc.) cusp sign is Virgo, so which planet rules the house considering I have no planets in that house?"

Or, you might ask, for instance, "My natal Sun is on the cusp, in which sign is it?"

Again, I WON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. Also, if your question relates to modern, psychological astrology, I won't answer it since the bulk of my predictive work is done using more ancient forms (I find them far more accurate). I won't answer questions about Chinese astrology or Vedic/Hindu astrology either.

My expertise involves the application of ancient forms of astrology (and numerology) to interpret personal fate, and assess personality and compatibility. http://www.scottpetullo.com http://www.mystictwins.com
