 Hi Tess :)  My name is Laura, born 3 June 1971 at 8:35 am, Springfield, MA.  I am currently in Bordentown, NJ.  My question concerns my upcoming solar return chart for June 2, 2009 in Bordentown, NJ.  It shows saturn on the ascendant (Virgo) squaring the solar return sun (which is conjunct the midheaven.) I am reading that this is not very good and indicates much affliction.  Can you offer your opinion on this Saturn/asc. saturn/sun square?  I am not feeling good about this at all.

First of all, I try to ask for other's people advice when interpreting my own chart :) I think that if we look at our own returns, transits... etc., we tend to focus on and amplify the bad aspects.

Your sun is conjunct the MH, which promises to be an important year.  

Regarding the Sun Saturn square, it might be challenging, and you will experience it over the course of a year or so...

Your professional life might encounter some delays, or your work/public life will challenge your sense of self.  Be careful not to squander any opportunities because you don't feel up for the part... Just take what comes your way!

If you step away from the solar return, and focus on the Saturn transit, consider what you started 7 years or so ago, when Saturn was conjunct your Sun... Now is a time of re-evaluation.  Are you still going in the right direction, do you need adjustment?

During this time, you might need to have some alone time, you might have a tendency toward self-pity/depressive attitude.  Note the "might" though :)  

Check what house Saturn rules in your chart, what is its location and aspects.  Do the same for the Sun. The nature of these 2 planets will tell you how impacted you'll be...

And look at all the planets/aspects in your return, Sun/Saturn is only one of many!
