Astrology/Yod and Chiron in Synastry

Question
I have a yod in my natal chart (debatably, depending on which book you read!), that I don't know how to interpret.  I've had some interesting synastric aspects with it that I don't know how to interpret either.  The yod is AQ Descendant for apex, against CAN Moon in 12th and VIR Mars in 2nd.  My Moon is also part of a Grand Trine w/Ven & Sat. One person has a yod conjunct to mine; he's a professional astrologer, and HE doesn't know what to do with it, either!  Another has Chiron CJ my Desc.  I have seen some delineations for contacts with planets, but not Desc. How do I interpret that in general, much less in respect to my yod?  Me: 11/21/64 9:18pm, Memphis, TN, USA. A: 1/8/50 1:56am, Dennison, OH, USA.  B: 7/18/55, Melbourne, FL, Unknown time.  Can you refer me to any books/articles?  I have "The Yod" by Kellogg and "The Yod Book" by Hamaker-Zondag.

Answer
Charlie,

I never consider the angles as being the apex of a yod...
I only take planets into account, and asteroids to a lesser extent...

If you did have a yod however, the activation by transit or in synastry would trigger the yod, and get the configuration moving according to its original problematic...  Most often than not, the yod is fixed in energy, it speaks about tension without much happening, until this kind of contact...

Regarding synastry, you need to look at the overall chart... If Chiron is strong in your own chart, or if it relates to 7th house issues, having someone's chiron conjunct your descendant will have consequences...

It will probably trigger old wounds connected to relating, and bring you closer to a resolution.  It might be an important relationship, with a purpose, meaning that it won't necessarily last...

Be careful however not to interpret a chart aspect by aspect... I always use the "rule of 3"; To consider that an aspect or theme is of importance in a chart, I need to see it 3 times in different shapes and forms...

For example, the Chiron conjunct DC might be considered karmic, but I would also need to see a strong nodes connection, or a predominant Saturn in the synastry to reach the conclusion that it is indeed a karmic relationship.

I hope this helps,
Good luck,
Tess
