QUESTION: my question is very simple. I stuy Western Astrology and know reading horoscop by Ascendant tends to be more accurate. In chinese astrology I believe there are 3 different animls that make up your zodiac(?) your month animal, date, and year.. so far, I know of being a dragon and nothing more.

can you explain this to me? or just send me t a site that will provide me with the answers as well as perhaps let me know what horoscope animal I should be reading? my birthdate is 9/6/1988

It's interesting to me you place such faith in the Ascendant but didn't include your time of birth with your birth data.

Yes, Chinese Astrology does have an ascendant. There are four signs, termed pillars, one for the year, month, day and time of birth. They are roughly equal in importance; although, the year sign is first among equals.

If you will include your time of birth in a follow up question, i will tell you all four of your Chinese signs, including the hour sign/ascendant.

By the way, in Chinese Astrology, each sign has two parts, element and animal. So, altogether, there are eight components to your complete sign.

QUESTION: would u believe that's I thought of that AFTER I asked? hahaha  wasn't sure if the time and locatin was needed for chinese astrology as well.. VERY ineresting! here I was thinking it consisted of only 3 signs.

According to Chinese Astrology you were born during the year of the Earth Dragon, month of the Metal Monkey, day of the Wood Rat and hour of the Wood Pig.

I'm still not sure i've answered your question, because international questions sometimes use a different date notation. Is your birthday September 6 (not June 9th)? I used Sep 6.

Assuming I used the correct date, there are two, significant things i can readily say about your chart. Three of your signs are from the Rat-Dragon-Monkey compatibility group, while your hour sign/ascendant is from the Rabbit-Sheep-Monkey one.

Your ascendant complements the other three signs in a number of ways. The Pig adds an emotional, sensual side to prevalent, more logical one. The Pig is also more open and trusting, with much less of a sharp tongue than the others. In other words, your ascendant softens characteristics of the big three.

The influence of your hour sign is less than of other people's since all of your other signs are from the same group. Nevertheless, balance is extremely important in Chinese Astrology, and your ascendant makes a positive contribution to that end.
