Question
Hi Scott,
I'd like for you to tell me what my true Astrology sign is (Western vs. Vedic) I was born December 1, 1974 at 11:55 am in Los Angeles, California. U.S.A. thanks.

Answer
Daianna,

Your true Sun sign, using Tropical zodiac is
Sagittarius.

You have Sun, Venus, MC (10th house cusp),
Neptune, and Moon's North Node all in
Sagittarius. You have natal Mercury and Mars
in Scorpio.

I recommend using the Tropical zodiac (Western),
instead of the Sidereal zodiac. Sidereal (Vedic)
would give you a Scorpio Sun (and all other
above listed planets, Moon's North Node, and 10th
cusp in Scorpio), which is erroneous in my view
and I'll tell you why.

Sidereal zodiac (the zodiac of constellations)
supporters will tell you, "...but Sidereal is the
'oldest astrology,' it's the basis for Hindu
astrology!"

Chaldean and Greek predate Hindu/Vedic/Jyotish/
Indian, and evidence shows that Hindu astrology
borrowed heavily from these cultures.

To be blunt, I have yet to meet an American,
European or other Western astrologer who uses the
Sidereal zodiac exclusively who offers even
consistently semi-acceptable accuracy rates.

Using that system, due to the current 20+
degree difference between the zodiacs, you'll
likely have a different Ascendant, Sun sign, and
Moon sign, among other possible differences.

If the practitioner who uses Sidereal is very
psychic and, or has developed their own unique,
reliable system using it, then perhaps they might
be able to obtain consistently high accuracy, but
my experience since the 1980s tells me that they
don't exist in America or anywhere else in the
Western world.

It must be said that you won't find your "real
Ascendant/Rising sign" (or "real Sun sign," or
"real Moon sign," etc.) by using the Sidereal
zodiac.

Make no mistake: you won't find out "...what sign
you really are." using the Sidereal zodiac (basis
for Hindu/Vedic/Jyotish/Indian astrology), and it
isn't the "true zodiac."

Like I say above, I have yet to meet any Westerner
who offers at least moderately consistent accuracy
rates, using Vedic astrology exclusively.

Some claim that Hindu/Vedic/Jyotish/Indian
astrology, is "the oldest astrology," but
Babylonian (and Chaldean), then Greek astrology,
predate Hindu astrology, and evidence shows the
Hindus borrowed heavily from these cultures.

Also, the origins of the actual astrological
horoscope (horoscopic astrology), which includes
the Ascendant or Rising sign, etc. is traced back
to Hellenistic Egypt (about 330 BC - 30 BC). Prior
to this time (when the Hindus adopted horoscopic
astrology), my findings show that Hindu astrology
was essentially fables, folklore, and myths.

Furthermore, while the techniques of hindu, or
Vedic astrology are "more complicated" than those
of modern Western astrology, they aren't more
complicated than the collective methods of ancient
astrology, including those of Chaldean, Greek,
Egyptian, Arabic, and others.

The more deeply a practitioner objectively explores
the science of astrology, instead of realizing ways
to manipulate life to one's desire (e.g., "...getting
astrologically unstuck and finding and keeping the
love of your life"), what is really discovered is
that the comprehensive charts symbolize immutable
fate-predestination. Although you can't turn your
charts into a magic genie who will grant all of your
wishes, self-understanding, thus acceptance is
obtainable.

Expertise

Please note: I DON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. That means if you ask for a free reading, your question will be rejected.

I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

As an example, you might ask, "My 7th house (house of partnerships, relationships, etc.) cusp sign is Virgo, so which planet rules the house considering I have no planets in that house?"

Or, you might ask, for instance, "My natal Sun is on the cusp, in which sign is it?"

Again, I WON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. Also, if your question relates to modern, psychological astrology, I won't answer it since the bulk of my predictive work is done using more ancient forms (I find them far more accurate). I won't answer questions about Chinese astrology or Vedic/Hindu astrology either.

My expertise involves the application of ancient forms of astrology (and numerology) to interpret personal fate, and assess personality and compatibility. http://www.scottpetullo.com http://www.mystictwins.com
