Yes, you could be truly happy. What I am saying is it will require a lot of effort from both of you to achieve understanding, especially when your desires clash. If you both continue to believe the relationship is worth the work it requires to maintain harmony, you will make the compromises and be happy. If a problem should arise, it would thus be more a question of attitude rather than compatibility.
