My birthday is Nov 8, 1953, 12:24 pm in Norwalk, CT. I am a professional writer and spend much time alone. I was wondering what my north node says about me...is it considered conj my ascendant and if so what does that mean? Also what other factors show writing ability. Thank you.

I would not consider your north node as conjunct your Ascendant, they are in different signs and not within orb for an out of sign aspect. The energy of the North Node can be hard to access, as often its out of our comfort zone, its the direction we need to go in, the South Node on the other has an energy that is easy for us, easy for us to fall into, so it takes no effort to access that energy. Your South Node is in the sign of Cancer so the Moon is the dispositor of that Node, strengthing your need to move towards your North Node, since the dispositor of your South Node the Moon is in the tenth house, Capricorn's house and your Node Node is in the sign of Capricorn. This combination to me is an indication of a need for you to get out into the world at large, its easier for you to isolate, you tend to be rather deep and at times brooding, and need a lot of personal space, but taken to an extreme this can turn into escapism  So part of your life path will be to get out and about, you will more than likely have many times in your life when this is forced on you.
You writing ability shows pretty clearly in your chart, your Mercury conjunct your tenth cusp, the Moon in Sagittarius in the tenth, Jupiter in Gemini in the fifth,and of course a very creative Venus conjunct Neptune.  This all gives you the ability to be focused while allowing creativity to flow, to be flexible within structure and to tap into the universal energies that produce ideas. I think you could have a very successful writing career.  You may also find over the next year to year and a half things get even more positive for you.
