Question
QUESTION: Hi Bill, could you please rate the romantic compatibility of myself, Ali, Fire Horse, born 8 February 1967 at 7 pm with M, born 26th January 1970? Thank you very much in advance.

ANSWER: Hi Ali,

You were born during the year of the Fire Horse, month of the Metal Ox, day of the Water Rabbit and hour of the Water Dog.

M was born during the year of the Earth Rooster, month of the Fire Ox and day of the Fire Horse.

From a Chinese Astrology perspective this match has a 44% favorable, compatibility rating, which is below average. It could last and bring you the happiness you seek, but it will require a lot of work and compromise from both of you.

I can understand your feelings for M. She is probably charismatic, exciting, and knows how to make herself look good.

Unfortunately you would probably be happier with someone born during the year of the Dog, four years younger or eight years older than yourself, and she with a Snake, four years older or eight years younger than her.

Her Rooster is likely to drive your Rabbit crazy over time with what you might consider excessive nagging and arguments. You two each have a strong Ox sign, which signals a lot of stubbornness and clashes of will. And you both have a Fire Horse sign. That sign can do big things, but it often leads to disaster (the Ghengis Khan sign). You probably each would be better off with someone less of a risk taker.

Anyway, this relationship is worth pursuing. You won't find someone as exciting as M very often. You might, however, want to keep an open mind as you can do better and are more likely to find lasting peace with someone else.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Hi Bill,
Thank you for your prompt and informative response.  In fact, I (Ali) am the female and M the male...but I guess this doesn't make a difference?
Thanks again

Answer
Hi Ali,

Yes, there is one thing---in addition to switching all the pronouns of course.

Since you are a female and have a Rabbit (day sign), that makes you even more vulnerable to being irritated and hassled by a male Rooster.

So, I would be even more cautious about this relationship than I said previously. The Rooster is the sign most likely to argue, nag and nitpick. If he's not a really nice guy, he's eventually going to go after you and ruin your peace of mind.

Thank you for clarifying your sex in a follow up.

Good luck.

Expertise

Chinese Astrology. I`ve done Chinese astrology for over 20 years, pimary experience Ming Shu style. I am NOT a psychic. I can't answer questions about when a particular event will occur, when/if your life will change, or what your spouse is going to be/look like. I do comment on relationships, career, personality analysis and life cycle chi, i.e., energy level and influences at each of the five stages of life. I evaluate specific relationships or can look at your love life in general. I can tell you your best career choices and whether the one you've chosen is good for you. And, I can identify the strong and weak times in your life. I've done work for Yahoo, astrology.com and onlinechineseastrology.com.

Experience

I've studied Chinese astrology for over 20 years now and done several thousand charts. My specialty is four pillars method, particularly as applied to evaluating relationships. I've also done Nine Star Ki and readings using Mah Jong tiles. My next step is to learn Purple Star astrology. It identifies many more chart details, but accurate readings are time consuming and dependent upon a lifetime of acquired experience.
