Hi Bill I have wanted to learn 4 pillars astrology for 30 years now and i can't find a good book on the subject. The charts I have looked at contradict each other on the the hours and day of birth. Where can I find reliable tables . My wife was born on march 7th 1964 at 4:15pm IN Rockville center NY and I was born on October 28th 1952 at 7;45 PM in Kingston NY. when I have tried to check our compatibility the data doesn't match what you have done for us on Astrology .com as far as the month and Hour. Hi Richard,

First I want to apologize. We have an "October bug" in our relationship calculator. It throws the date off by two.

You were actually born during the year of the Water Dragon, month of the Metal Dog, day of the Fire Sheep and hour of the Metal Dog.

From a Chinese Astrology perspective your match has an 80% favorable compatibility rating, which is excellent.

There are two good book sources for establishing the Four Pillars. The first is Derek Walters' Ming Shu: The Art and Practice of Chinese Astrology. It does require you do a few calculations, but it's not difficult. The second is Kwok Man-Ho's Authentic Chinese Horoscopes (it's actually a 12 book series: Year of the Rat, Ox, etc., but any single book will do). It requires looking up several tables. Unfortunately both are out of print. They are, however, available from amazon.com, used if not new.

Other readings for you could also be affected by the October bug, so let me know what, if any, readings you ordered.
