QUESTION: Hi!
I have one question. My lover and my best friend and I have north node placed on each other ascendant. What that means and is that relationship important for us in some way? When I met him I thought I knew him whole my life and we have been best friends for 2 years and then we were in a love relationship, and again friends and now again in love relationship. My birth date is 1. february 1980. and his 26. june 1977.

ANSWER: The nodes indicate the karma we bring with us into our lives, many placements do but the nodes are important as they show us where we may have habit patterns that are not good for our soul growth, the south node is indicative of what you bring with you the north is what you need to strive for.  You look at what the south node indicates in your chart, that is where your areas of least resistance are, maybe you have habits or traits you fall into, you should strive to find better ways to deal with issues that are indicated by the nodes placements.  In a comparison chart the node node, or where you are striving to improve on anothers ascendant is often seen in charts where the relationship is one where both of you propel or push each other into becoming a better person, this is not always easy its often hard and can come from challenges in the life.  So its a good placement in the sense that it indicates you have choose each other to show the way to a more productive soul growth for each other.

QUESTION: i forgot to tell you that i have sun in aquarius, asc libra, north node leo, so my south node is in aquarius in 5th house. his sun is in leo, asc leo and north node in libra. i didn't quite understand how i must look at what the south node indicates in my chart, what exactly?

Answer
The south node is an indicator of past habit patterns, from prior lives, that have come with you in this incarnation.  One of the challenges in this life is to learn how to over come those patterns.  It can be difficult as they are so ingrained in our nature that we don't always know when we are falling back into those patterns.  We can tell by the sign and house placement of the nodes, its a little more complicated than that but in this type of a forum its hard to get any more explicit. In your case, without taking the rest of your chart into account, I would say your nodes, house placement and Sun sign all have a synergy about them, since to me I think of the Leo Aquarius polarity as the ability to give and receive love, my guess would be that is an issue with you, you may find it easy to do things for others but hard to receive from them.  You tend towards what the right thing is and often ignore what your emotion needs are.  Of course these houses and signs mean a lot more than just one thing, they are also your house of creatively and children to name a couple.  Very often people with this placement want to adopt children, and often have a desire to do what is right for children in general.
