Question
QUESTION: i am female born on 24/5/1981...and my fiancee is born on 3/8/1979...are we compatible? or will we have problems?

ANSWER: Hi Gigi,

I'm happy to say from a Chinese Astrology perspective this match has a 60% favorable, compatibility, which is good. It has a decent chance of lasting and bringing you the happiness you seek.

You were born during the year of the Metal Rooster, month of the Water Snake and day of the Water Tiger.

He was born during the year of the Earth Sheep, month of the Metal Sheep, and day of the Water Tiger.

Every relationship has challenges, and with 40% against you, you're likely to have your fair share of them. Here are some of the things I see right away in your charts.

You have two signs from the Ox-Snake-Rooster compatibility group, and he has none. He has two signs from the Rabbit-Sheep-Pig compatibility group, and you have none. This means in a lot of significant areas you're not going to be able to satisfy each other's needs.

Secondly, you have some strong signs, while he has two, gentle Sheep signs. He is likely to sometimes see you as too aggressive, pushy and argumentative. And you're likely to occasionally see him as an overly emotional whiner.

Third, you don't have any Earth in your chart, and he has an excess. This makes you very different in this area. He may see you as impractical and not grounded, while you may see him as boring and too much set in his ways.

So the trick to this relationship is appreciating your differences. It's probably not going to be smooth sailing. The good news for you is you should have the reigns in this match. You will probably have the ability and control to make it work. And, ultimately it will be your decision whether you want to make (and keep) it permanent or not.

QUESTION: Thank you for your response ..i did order a detailed analysis from your website ..in which you said we have a 53% chance and it not going be smooth sailing..is this good for us in the long term??

Answer
Hi Gigi,

There really are two answers to the question.

From the perspective of Luck you are good for each other in the long term. You see elements can have a constructive, destructive or neutral relationship with each other in Chinese Astrology. His Earth year element nourishes your Metal year element, which brings out the best in you. And his Metal month element nourishes your Water month element, further enhancing your Luck. Your day elements are neutral but in harmony (Water and Water).

Your animal signs don't match up so well. You will have to decide for yourself whether that is good for you both in the long term. But, I can give you some criteria to use when you make your decision(s). Do you prefer a relationship that is interesting and exciting to one that is comfortable and relaxing? Your different and sometimes clashing, animal signs suggest the first choice (interesting and exciting) is more appropriate here. If you're looking for a comfortable relationship, this one may not be good for you in the long term. One other thing. How are you both when it comes to empathy and understanding? If you both have these qualities, this match can be good for you in the long term since it is overall positive. If you don't, the odds are against it lasting and bringing you the happiness you seek.

In conclusion I will say this match can be good for you in the long term, but it's going to require continuous work and commitment throughout. You'll be successful as long as you both believe the good things in it outweigh the occasional misunderstandings and clashes of will that are likely to occur from time to time.

If you're going ahead with it, I would suggest Susan Levitt's Taoist Astrology book as that would give you a lot of insights into his personality and needs (yours too for that matter). Mutual understanding is important to any relationship, but especially to one like yours where the animal signs don't match up that well.

Good luck and thank you for your question.

Chinese Astrology. I`ve done Chinese astrology for over 20 years, pimary experience Ming Shu style. I am NOT a psychic. I can't answer questions about when a particular event will occur, when/if your life will change, or what your spouse is going to be/look like. I do comment on relationships, career, personality analysis and life cycle chi, i.e., energy level and influences at each of the five stages of life. I evaluate specific relationships or can look at your love life in general. I can tell you your best career choices and whether the one you've chosen is good for you. And, I can identify the strong and weak times in your life. I've done work for Yahoo, astrology.com and onlinechineseastrology.com.

Experience

I've studied Chinese astrology for over 20 years now and done several thousand charts. My specialty is four pillars method, particularly as applied to evaluating relationships. I've also done Nine Star Ki and readings using Mah Jong tiles. My next step is to learn Purple Star astrology. It identifies many more chart details, but accurate readings are time consuming and dependent upon a lifetime of acquired experience.
