Hi.As far as I know the air and fire signs are the male signs.But in the Internet there a lot of sites that have the Gemini signs drawn as two girls.In my information the legends and the myths are always with male twins.Sorry for my English I'm not native speaker :)

You are correct the story of the Twins is the story of Romulus and Remus twin brothers who were left by their parents when infants, they were both raised by a female wolf. As adults they had a quarrel so Romulus ended up killing Remus.  Romulus was the founder of Rome.  This is not a feminine energy story, its a very male energy story, so I cannot say why some astrologers choose to choose to depict it as a female energy.  You are correct all fire and air signs are male all earth and water signs are female.
