Question
I was born on 1994 April 25, but I do not know my time of birth because my mother had a c-section, and my boyfriend was born on 1994 April 9 (he doesn't know his time of birth either). According to Western astrology, we aren't relationship-compatible because he's an Aries and I'm a Taurus, but we get along so well! I feel like he's "the one", my true soul-mate! I don't have a specific question to ask you Mr. Hajdu, but I'm just wondering if you can give me a detailed-reading and analyze me and my boyfriend's relationship as a whole.

Answer
Ni Natalie,

You were born during the year of the Wood Dog, month of the Earth Dragon and day of the Metal Snake.

He was born during the year of the Wood Dog, month of the Fire Rabbit and day of the Wood Ox.

From a Chinese Astrology perspective this match has a 75% favorable compatibility rating. Assuming neither of you is "damaged goods" (drug, alcohol, other addictions, or mental problems), this relationship has a very good chance of lasting and bringing you the happiness you seek.

I need to tell you three things. Dog - Dragon and Ox - Dragon are opposing/conflicting signs. There will be clashes of will between you as time goes by. You'll just have to deal with it, but given overall compatibility, it should be worth the trouble.

Second. I can't explain why the Chinese system gives a much better rating, but I can assure you I'm telling you the truth. This is what I see in your charts, not simply telling you what you want to hear. Believe me, if I had bad news, I would have told you. All I can say is you should use the system that gives you the most accurate answers. But be on guard. As I said, there are plenty of astrologers out there whose primary goal is to keep you happy, not to tell you the (whole) truth.

Third. In Chinese astrology your most likely soul mate is someone born in the Year of the Rabbit (1975, 1987, 1999 for example). Also, I don't believe soul mates have to necessarily be a spouse. Think about relatives, friends, coworkers, even someone who just briefly comes into your life and ends up influencing you greatly. Find any Rabbits in there? In fact a soul mate could even be one of your children. You just never know. So I suggest keeping an open mind. And, of course, your spouse could end up being a soul mate. No one can tell you for sure until you find the one.

If you would like to know more about Chinese Astrology, I recommend Shelly Wu's Chinese Sexual Astrology (she talks about soul mates) and Susan Levitt's Taoist Astrology. Thank you for your question.

Expertise

Chinese Astrology. I`ve done Chinese astrology for over 20 years, pimary experience Ming Shu style. I am NOT a psychic. I can't answer questions about when a particular event will occur, when/if your life will change, or what your spouse is going to be/look like. I do comment on relationships, career, personality analysis and life cycle chi, i.e., energy level and influences at each of the five stages of life. I evaluate specific relationships or can look at your love life in general. I can tell you your best career choices and whether the one you've chosen is good for you. And, I can identify the strong and weak times in your life. I've done work for Yahoo, astrology.com and onlinechineseastrology.com.

Experience

I've studied Chinese astrology for over 20 years now and done several thousand charts. My specialty is four pillars method, particularly as applied to evaluating relationships. I've also done Nine Star Ki and readings using Mah Jong tiles. My next step is to learn Purple Star astrology. It identifies many more chart details, but accurate readings are time consuming and dependent upon a lifetime of acquired experience.
