Astrology/Adding birthday numbers

Question
I'm confused as to how to add the birthday.  Mine is July 28, 1958.  If I add the unreduced numbers, I get a master number of 22, after adding down.  If I reduce the numbers once, I get 40 (4).  If I reduce each number segment completely, I get the karmic number of 13/4 (which I'd rather not have!).  How would you come to a final number?  Also, my house number, 3550, is the karmic 13/4, which scares me when, linked to my birthday number.

Answer
Hi Emily,

The purest form, in my view, is to add the numbers like this: 7+28+1958=1993=22.

However it's best to consider the other methods too.

Here's an excerpt of an article we (Mystic Twins) wrote:

"When calculating the Life Path, there are three main
methods to consider in order to correctly find Master
and Karmic Debt Numbers.

The first, being the most accurate in our view, is as
follows:

January 25, 1950

1+25+1950 = 1976 = 23/5

This method allows for the individuality of each day,
month, and year number to be represented. After all, each
day of the year is different, as is each month, and each year.

The second most accurate method (simply adding the
single digits of each part of the reduced numbers of the full birth date) is as follows, and it reveals a Karmic Debt Number:

1 + 25/7 + 1950/6

1+ 7 + 6 = 14/5

The least accurate, and least personal method, is as
follows:

1+2+5+1+9+5+0= 23/5

It's best to have two of the three methods result in a Master Number or Karmic Debt Number before considering the Life Path energy to be aligned with such energy. In the case of January 25, 1950, the person, in our opinion, would not exhibit the Karmic Debt number energy of the 14/5 as much as if we would have seen at least two of the above methods resulting in the Karmic Debt Number of 14. Of course, each method results in the single digit 5, and the base number is enough for a interpretive start.

You could use our Numerology Decoder Software to correctly calculate the basic charts, including those positions with Master Numbers and Karmic Debt numbers, as it offers up to three calculation methods per calculation."

About your Life Path number (root number of 4) matching your house number, don't worry about it too much. That's generally a favorable thing. Plus, 3550 is a decent 13, whereas a number like 4900 would be far less symbolically favorable. :)

Expertise

Please note: I DON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. That means if you ask for a free reading, your question will be rejected.

I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

As an example, you might ask, "My 7th house (house of partnerships, relationships, etc.) cusp sign is Virgo, so which planet rules the house considering I have no planets in that house?"

Or, you might ask, for instance, "My natal Sun is on the cusp, in which sign is it?"

Again, I WON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. Also, if your question relates to modern, psychological astrology, I won't answer it since the bulk of my predictive work is done using more ancient forms (I find them far more accurate). I won't answer questions about Chinese astrology or Vedic/Hindu astrology either.

My expertise involves the application of ancient forms of astrology (and numerology) to interpret personal fate, and assess personality and compatibility. http://www.scottpetullo.com http://www.mystictwins.com
