I am curious about any insights you might have regarding this particular stage of my life, especially regarding career and relationships -- born August 29, 1953, at Shelby, NC, at 9:55 am.  Thank you for your help.

You were born during the year of the Water Snake, month of the Metal Monkey, day of the Water Rat. I'm not sure of your hour. If 9am is standard time, your hour is Wood Snake; if daylight savings time, your hour is Wood Dragon.

Well, mid-life is your strongest time. It's your Water time and is associated with Wealth. This means the best way for you to make money is in communications, using your speaking and, or, writing skills. Retirement is also a moderately strong time for you. Strong refers to your chi (energy/life force) level. So, you should have the energy to accomplish your goals.

Relationships, however, could be a challenging area, as your chart indicators are below normal---though not extremely so. It's interesting that you have two signs from the Rat-Dragon-Monkey compatibility group. Although you may be attracted to someone from the Snake-Ox-Rooster group (four or eight years older or younger than you), you may be more compatible overall with a Dragon, one year older than you.
