Astrology/Current aspects vs. transits

Question
Hi Scott,

I was wondering whether there is any rule of thumb regarding a conflict of these aspects.  For example, if Venus is making a trine to Jupiter today, but squaring my own natal Jupiter, what steps would you take to resolve the "conflict" in the interpretation?  Thanks very much.

Answer
Hi Joan,

I answered your question directly and emphasized my view that transits are for fine-tuning only. What you're seeking isn't a productive focus, in my opinion, as many such transits (most) are meaningless. Excessive focus on transits is common in modern astrology and it's a waste of time.

Using transits for more than fine-tuning is a a major reason many modern astrologers erroneously state, "astrology isn't prediction, only possibilities."

Yet you rate my answer very low apparently because I didn't tell you what you wanted to hear.

Volunteers on AllExperts such as myself question our efforts on this site when we encounter a questioner like yourself. Unfortunate.

Hi Joan,

Although universal considerations (numerological or astrological) are more symbolically potent in my view, it's the unique  personal indicators that are more important relating to each person.

View the personal considerations first and the universal second. Also, I recommend using transits for fine-tuning only.

Sincerely,

Expertise

Please note: I DON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. That means if you ask for a free reading, your question will be rejected.

I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

As an example, you might ask, "My 7th house (house of partnerships, relationships, etc.) cusp sign is Virgo, so which planet rules the house considering I have no planets in that house?"

Or, you might ask, for instance, "My natal Sun is on the cusp, in which sign is it?"

Again, I WON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. Also, if your question relates to modern, psychological astrology, I won't answer it since the bulk of my predictive work is done using more ancient forms (I find them far more accurate). I won't answer questions about Chinese astrology or Vedic/Hindu astrology either.

My expertise involves the application of ancient forms of astrology (and numerology) to interpret personal fate, and assess personality and compatibility. http://www.scottpetullo.com http://www.mystictwins.com
