About Scott Petullo
Expertise

I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

As an example, you might ask, "My 7th house (house of partnerships, relationships, etc.) cusp sign is Virgo, so which planet rules the house considering I have no planets in that house?"

Or, you might ask, for instance, "My natal Sun is on the cusp, in which sign is it?"

I DON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE, SORRY. :)

Again, I WON'T DO PERSONAL READINGS HERE. Also, if your question relates to modern, psychological astrology, I won't answer it since the bulk of my predictive work is done using more ancient forms (I find them far more accurate). I won't answer questions about Chinese astrology or Vedic/Hindu astrology either.

My expertise involves the application of ancient forms of astrology (and numerology) to interpret personal fate, and assess personality and compatibility. http://www.scottpetullo.com http://www.mystictwins.com

Subject: Depression in sun signs

Question
My name is Michele . My date of birth is 6/15/1965. I was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.C at 3:00 in the afternoon. I would like to know if certain astrological signs are more prone to depression than other signs? I have had low-grade depression practically all of my life as far back as my early childhood years. I'm wondering if my air sign traits( impulsivity, impatience, changeability .... have anything to do with my chronic depression and melancholy. Thank you

Answer
Hi Michele,

No, certain astrological signs are not more prone to depression than other signs. Also, no your Gemini Sun sign traits aren't directly related to your chronic depression.

You really must consider all the patterns in the comprehensive charts to discern character, not just Sun signs. Sorry, as I say in my AllExperts profile, I don't do readings here.

I notice that your date of birth (root numbers) consists of all emotional numbers: 6, 15/6, and 1965/3 (reducing the multiple digit numbers to single digits by addition, e.g., 15 = 1+5=6).

Although again, you must go into the comprehensive charts to look for patterns, having the 6, 6, and 3 (which added together to get your Life Path = 15/6, another 6) as the core of your date of birth symbolizes a lot of emotional energy. 6, 6, and 3 are all emotional numbers. With that arrangement to start, you're likely to have many more emotional numbers in your charts, as those three numbers combine to form many, many aspects.

What does this mean? Without getting into your comprehensive charts, it points to an emotionally based existence (vs. mental, spiritual, or physical), which could suggest (with corroborating factors) bouts of depression or other emotional challenges.

After reviewing the natal/personality charts, then you must look at the timing charts. Some time cycles/patterns of time cycles are much more reflective of depression than others.

No simple solutions, but the above might point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Sincerely,
Scott Petullo
