About Bill Hajdu
Expertise Chinese Astrology. I`ve done Chinese astrology for over 19 years, pimary experience Ming Shu style. I am NOT a psychic. I do comment on relationships, career, personality analysis and life cycle chi, i.e., energy level and influences at each of the five stages of life.
Experience I've studied Chinese astrology for almost 18 years now and done several thousand charts. My specialty is four pillars method, particularly as applied to evaluating relationships. My next step is to learn Purple Star astrology. It identifies many more chart details, but accurate readings are time consuming and dependent upon a lifetime of acquired experience.

Subject: Four Pillars
Question QUESTION: Hi Bill,
Apparently I was born in the year of the fire tiger, in the month of the fire monkey, on the day of the fire horse, in the hour of the earth ox (August 30, 1986...1:36am Eastern time). I haven't the foggiest idea about what that's supposed to mean and I was hoping you could help give me a clue. Everything I've read so far about Chinese astrology barely mentions the four pillars and speaks mainly about the year signs.Any info you could give me would be awesome.
Thanks,
Olga
ANSWER: Hi Olga,
There are two basic ideas crucial to understanding the answer to your question.
First, everyone does, indeed, have four signs. They are equally important in determining the overall mix of your personality and your fate. The year sign, however, is the first among equals. All things being equal, it will predominate, but all things are rarely equal.
Second, balance is fundamental to understanding Chinese astrology. The information conveyed by all four of your signs provides insight into your balance.
By the way, your hour sign may be Earth Rat rather than Earth Ox. It depends on whether you were born at 1am Eastern standard time (Ox) or Eastern Daylight Savings Time (Earth Rat). This doesn't change your overall balance, but it does alter one weakness.
The Ox lady is the lady most likely to partner with the wrong guy. If your hour sign is Rat, it conflicts with your Horse, day sign. That would mean you have an inner conflict. Since those two signs are polar opposites, you can be pulled in different directions. This would make you unpredictable and could result in inner confusion, even difficulty with self esteem.
OK. Here are two things I see with your overall chart. You have two signs from the Tiger-Horse-Dog compatibility group. You are likely to be most happy with people of that group, especially the Dog, four years older or eight years younger than yourself.
Second, you have three, Fire signs as well as lot of Fire overall in your chart. This gives you a lot of energy and charisma but makes you vulnerable in three other areas. You could have difficulty with determination, practicality, creativity and adaptability to change.
The imbalance also means you are going to have to expend a lot of chi (energy/life force) during most of your life to achieve your goals. The good news is your Fire/strongest time is in Retirement, so you have a chance to have a very exciting and rewarding time towards the end of your life.

QUESTION: Thanks so much for your quick reply. I have a few other questions though. Theoretically, would the earth ox energy help balance all the fire? Are the other ways to balance and preserve that energy? Would the monkey and tiger aspects conflict?
Answer Hi Olga,
No, Earth Ox energy won't necessarily balance all that Fire. Actually, it is Water that controls Fire, and you don't have much Water in your chart.
Yes, Monkey and Tiger conflict. Since they are polar opposites, you are likely to be torn between acting like one of the other. The Monkey is cerebral and calculating, for example, while the Tiger is passionate and direct. This makes you unpredictable and hard for others to understand. Also, you could have some inner confusion and, possibly, issues with self esteem.
As for balancing energy, you can add Water to your environment, table top fountain and or fish tank for example. Also, you might visit a Chinese doctor and have your pulses and meridians checked for blockages. The doctor could give you some advice on diet and herbs if there is a problem.
