I'm happy to answer general astrology questions, such as identifying a particular Moon sign or Sun sign that happens to be on the cusp, or identifying an Ascendant (Rising sign) or a ruler (or rulers) of a particular house, etc.

As an example, you might ask, "My 7th house (house of partnerships, relationships, etc.) cusp sign is Virgo, so which planet rules the house considering I have no planets in that house?"

Or, you might ask, for instance, "My natal Sun is on the cusp, in which sign is it?"

2 questions for you concerning unaspected planets please:
-what are the ramifications of someone with at chart with unaspected sun AND moon?
2-what is the standard/classical interpretation of conjunctions, in other words, even though a conjunction is stated as planets within 30 degrees of each other, would that be a correct interpretation in a birth chart? i've heard that 3-5 degrees is the more accurate reading, would appreciate your take based on experience.

Hi Cathleen,

Ramifications of someone with unaspected Sun and Moon are potentially many, but you must consider the health of the Sun and Moon, their location, their rulers, and the many other considerations to narrow it down.

OK, disclaimer out of the way.

I'd like the birth data to check that out.

Unaspected ("feral") Moon and Sun could easily point to a loner. But again, you have to look at all the other indicators.

In which houses are they? Where are their rulers? How are their rulers? Are either the Sun or Moon the most potent body of that basic chart?

Is the Sun afflicted otherwise? How about the Moon?

If female, Sun is closely related to her love life. If male, Moon is. If both are unaspected, that's a bad sign either way. How is Venus in this basic chart?

Second question regarding conjunctions:

The ancients commonly went by sign (even if 28-30 degrees apart)--as long as they were in the same sign, they are conjunct.

But you probably know that the tighter the conjunction, the more symbolic relevance it has.

I'd go by 5 degrees, but give the Sun and Moon a wider scope.

I'd use the following orbs if you want to narrow it down: Saturn 8 degrees; Jupiter 8 degrees; Mars 7 degrees; Sun 14 degrees; Venus 7 degrees; Mercury 7 degrees; Moon 11 degrees.

Moiety is when the orbs of two planets become meaningful.
Just add the two orbs together and and divide by two: Venus 7 and Mercury 7 = 14 divided by 2 = 7. So when Venus and Mercury are 7 degrees apart they are in moiety of orb. In other words, the conjunction is active, or at least more active than if they were in the same sign, let's say 26 degrees apart.
