Astronomy/The Universe and the Neurons

Question
I am a researcher looking into science and religion and during my studies I have found out that Cosmologist who make computer model maps of the universe have constructed a map where the design of the universe look just like the neurons in the brain. Could this pattern be a mirror effect to our neurons? see diagram on this link showing this.http://www.ascensionq2.20fr.com/custom.html at the bottom of this page. homepage is www.ascensionq.20fr.com

Answer
Hi Larry,

Actually, wouldn't ANY filamentary structure (some spider
web formations, microscopic views of foam rubber, etc) mimic the filamentary structure of the Universe? Or the filamentary structure of neurons in the brain?

Actually, you (and that webpage) are making the attempted correlation in 2 dimensions.  I've read where in  3-D structured maps, the Universe, connecting the galaxy clusters, is more like a "soap bubble" structure.  And I'm
sure we could find some sort of foamy structures in nature
that "mimic" a soap bubble structure, too. (Those strange
saliva-like white thingies hanging from the milkweed plant in the summertime?)

Almost reminds me of the so-called "face on Mars" which we all knew would eventually turn out to be selected lighting of a mesa, hills, and valleys...and that's exactly what it was after it was imaged at a different angle.

But, be that as it may, so what?  What's the point anyway?  I don't see any more than a coincidence, and no other significance.  Are they trying to "infer" that the entire Universe is a "living organism" alive, and breathing?  Just because it's 2 dimensional structure
resembles brain neurons?? That assertion, to any scientist or biologist, is ridiculous.  The time and distance element alone, billions of lightyears across, precludes life, as we know it.

Kind of like the lady that recently cut a potato in half, and there, in her opinion, was an "image" of a Cross on one half the middle, and an "image" of Jesus on the other half of the middle...if you have a good imagination.  Well, that, and 72 cents, will still get you a Senior Coffee at McDonalds, in most locations, if you know what I mean.
Hope this helps,

FOLLOW UP:
BTW, that webpage is either a metaphysical (metaphysics
or pseudo-physics) attempt to explain the Universe, or a
diversion of the Instantaneous Creationist attempt to do
the same, in a wild attempt to discredit the Big Bang scenerio, which we all already know is the correct methodology.  Look at the margins...Nostradamous, World ends in 2012 as predicted by the Mayans, etc etc. All that
occult or Creationism BS stuff. If you really want the straight scoop on astronomy, stick with either Sky & Telescope Magazine or www.spaceweather.com as they do not 'sensationalize' or worse, twist and contort, the subject.  Unfortunately, astronomy is the most used topic
for 'sensationalism' for any webpage or periodical. Why?
To sell more magazines, or get more attention...all for
money.

ADDITIONAL FOLLOW-UP
Oh, I didn't see the 'science and religion' part...
Well, here's the straight scoop....
Religion answers the questions "Who? and Why?"
(Who put us here?  Why are we here?)
Science answers the questions... How? and By What Process?
Each are after the absolute truth in their own areas.

The two should never drift into the others' fields of questions.
Science always gets into trouble answering the why and who...religion always gets into trouble answering the
how, and by what process?  The two should never stray
out of their own expertise, otherwise there is always
trouble. If the two stay in their own realm of the questions above, then there is no problems.
FWIW,
Clear Skies,
Tom

Astronomy has been my hobby/pasttime for over 50 years.  Currently own 3 telescopes, the largest of which is a 30 inch Newtonian truss Dob that is portable.I taught Astronomy/Meteorology at the University Level for 13 years before retiring in 1995. Being retired and home most of the time, I am able to answer all questions relatively quickly, unless it's a new moon weekend with good observing conditions.  No astrology questions please, or questions about alleged UFO picture identifications.
