Hi Paul,

I would really like your insight into the "Planet X" or "Nibiru" claims going around at the moment, to know if there is any scientific weight behind the claims. As you have probably heard, it is said that the planet Nibiru which is around 4 times larger than Earth is on an elliptical orbit around our sun of 4000yrs and is due to near in the next few years. Claims that the increase in natural disasters etc is proof that we are already feeling the effects are all over the place, with certain astromoners (genuine or not i don't know) relaying infomation via videos. They say it is already quite visible from the North Pole & the governments know about it & are (quietly, to avoid panic) making preparations.

I know there is plenty of scare-mongering about & many people seem to be already linking this to ancient prophesies... buuuuut, you never know when one of these things might just wind up to be true & it is understandable under the circumstances that if it was true then there would be a huge cover-up as otherwise order would be out the window & looting would be rife.

I appreciate very much any guidance you could give me on this.

This is all bogus.  There is nothing in the sky that would be visible from the North Pole and not visible from the rest of the Northern Hemisphere during the night.  And the math is ridiculous---if it orbits the Sun every 4,000 years, then the Earth would pass it every year as we orbit the Sun more quickly.  Nothing that small would be visible to the naked eye--not if it were that far away.  And finally, this planet would be far, far smaller than Jupiter--yet even a 747 jet flying overhead at 30,000 feet has more gravitational effect on Earth than the planet Jupiter.  

Somebody is having a lot of fun with this, and probably trying to make some money as well--but there is no science behind it at all.
