Is there any scientific proof of a Planet X that is suppose to intersect earth’s orbit in 2012? This is same time that the Mayan’s calendar runs out. Supposedly there has been an observatory built at the South Pole to monitor its approach.

Hi Roy,
To my knowledge, planet X is the planet far out in the kuiper belt, beyond pluto. This planet causes disturbances in the orbits of cold dark icy balls in the belt, that are the leftovers from the formative epoch of the solar system. These then come careening inwards as comets. (At least that is the general idea).

Actually the search for it began after perturbations were noticed in the orbit of Uranus & Neptune.

No it is not "about to cross earth's orbit" at all.
These strange dooms day'ers will never rest, first it was 1000 ad, (yes no jokes), then 2000 ad, now it is 2012..will they ever learn?
