Answer
Nathaniel,

This is 6 very complicated questions, all asked together.  I don't have time to give you very long answers, so I will have to give you some websites that you can look at on your own.

First of all, if you're serious about becoming an astronomer, look at these websites.  The American Astronomical Society is having some kind of (very unusual) website trouble today.  Try them again in a few days.
http://www.aas.org/
www.aas.org/education/students.php
http://www.noao.edu/education/lee.html

Anyway... astronomy is a science, which astrology is not.  Astronomy is the objective study of the universe.

This is where you can report a meteor.
http://www.amsmeteors.org/fireball/report.html

This will help you report a comet.
www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/comets/3306581.html

This will help you report a UFO:
http://www.nuforc.org/

This website is helpful, if you want to make sure that you have found a meteorite:

I hope this gets you started.

Keep Looking Up,

Expertise

I am not a professional astronomer by any means, but astronomy has been an interest of mine since childhood, and I am well-informed on the subject. If unable to answer someone`s question personally, I will know how to quickly find the answer online, because I keep myself informed about developments in the field and I know where to look for information.

Experience

I worked in an observatory for awhile at one point, doing various interesting things with a computer.
