Question
I bought this at an auction to get my grandsons interested in something other than video or TV. I didn't check it out thoroughly until I got it home and then  I found it had no lens in the eyepiece. It is approximately 1" in diameter and has 2 side screws, I guess to hold in the lens, my question is " can I get a replacement, from where, what do I ask for, or do I just throw the whole thing out as a bad bargain? Would be grateful if you could help. thanks  Dee

Answer
Dee,
I live in a city, so I have very little experience with telescopes.  I do own a telescope, but there is always too much city light for me to see anything (except the moon).

I would recommend talking to Tom Whiting.  He deals with questions like your a lot.

I hope this is helpful.

Expertise

I am not a professional astronomer by any means, but astronomy has been an interest of mine since childhood, and I am well-informed on the subject. If unable to answer someone`s question personally, I will know how to quickly find the answer online, because I keep myself informed about developments in the field and I know where to look for information.

Experience

I worked in an observatory for awhile at one point, doing various interesting things with a computer.
