Question

Evidence of orange lig
Good evening, at 11.15 PM, 06.09.08, 5 witness's including myself
encountered a shock of disbelief as we saw in the night sky an army of 18-20
orange flare of strong sharp beaming lights hovering in the distance silently
amongst the clouds coming from the west side of England. I live in London
but I believe it travelled from the west side of England. They came 8 at a time
then seconds later more emerged from the far distance in uneven scattered
formations they weren't all on the same level, some were higher up than
others. There was silence in the mid air and it felt unusually paranormal. In
total the whole experience lasted 8-10 minutes. I would like your expert
opinion to what it could be. Thank You.

Answer
HI Anon

My first two guesses would be a fireball that broke up on entry into the Earth's atmosphere, sending individual pieces streaking across the sky until they eventually burned out. This would be consistent with the general sense of direction and general grouping of the objects.  But the source could also be man-made.  I once saw a large satellite burn up on re-entry, and it behaved much the way you describe this.

CommentThank You for your response although I'm not convinced 100% with the answer. We have video recordings and images that prove yesterdays experience was a unique one and sophisticated much of higher intelligence particularly with the speed and co-ordination of the journey of these irregular lights flying overhead of buildings.
